CapitalCatalyst Program
Since 2004, Angel Catalyst has managed the River Valley Investors angel network. The company also helped build the Northeast's inter-angel-network syndication infrastructure - a system being watched and copied by other regions of the country.
Angel catalyst knows angel investors, and knows what it takes for entrepreneurs to attract equity capital.
The inefficiencies inherent to the equity financing system cause many worthy companies to starve before they have a chance to prove their worth. These companies face problems like...
- Competition - At any given time there are dozens, often hundreds of other companies vying for investors’ attention.
- Communication - Entrepreneurs have worked hard to learn the language of their customers – a language often quite different from "investorese."
- Connections - Their network tends to be heavily developed in their target market, not among the investor community.
Frustrated by these inefficiencies, Angel Catalyst created the CapitalCatalyst program to teach:
- Strategy – Every aspect of the entrepreneurs’ business strategy is reviewed and optimized. Any aspects that create road blocks to fundraising are remodeled.
- Networking – A plan for building strong relationships into the ideal funding sources is developed and nurtured.
- Positioning – Immersion in the language, mindset, and practices of angels and venture capitalists. CapitalCatalyst alum know how to speak succinctly and effectively to potential investors.
A sampling of some past advisee's results:
- Dexrex went from dorm room to raising $2 million in angel capital in two years.
- CTI Energy services went from concept to raising >$200,000 in 4 months.
- EB software radically revised their business model and were in talks with a strategic investor after only one month.
Angel Catalyst only works with companies showing viable potential to attract equity capital and a management team ready to aggressively pursue their opportunity. Participants are charged a flat fee (no success fees).
Angel Catalyst offers this program to teach entrepreneurs "how to fish." The company does not raise money for participants nor represent them in any way. There is also a firewall between the CapitalCatalyst program and the angel networks Angel Catalyst interacts with - Participants in the CapitalCatalyst program are shown NO preference.
